The best Piedmont Ski Resorts

The choice of the best ski resorts in Piedmont is of course subjective. I have based my ranking on positive reviews and personal experience in the respective ski resorts.

1. Via Lattea

The Via Lattea ski area (eng. Milky Way) is the most famous and largest ski resort in Piedmont. It is located in the Italian-French border region, in Val Chisone, about an hour west from Turin.

Over 200 slopes, covering a total of 400 kilometers, are available to winter sports enthusiasts and offer a wealth of variety. This top ski resort, at altitudes ranging from 1,372 to 2,789m, is linked by a sophisticated lift system.

The region gained worldwide fame through the 2006 Winter Olympics, where a large part of the competitions were held here.

To guarantee optimal snow conditions, numerous snow making systems are in operation during the winter, covering 60 percent of the entire ski resort.

Conclusion: Piedmont Ski Resorts

You will have seen that the Piedmont ski resorts have just as beautiful, varied and diverse offers for winter sports enthusiasts as the famous ski resorts of Austria or South Tyrol.

However, the region does much better in the price-performance ratio, as ski passes here are on average between € 35.00 – € 55.00 per day and thus almost 50% below the prices of Austria.

Now it is up to you to chose between the different Piedmont ski resorts for your upcoming ski holiday.
