About me

And who writes and raves about Piedmont like this?

Hello, I’m Linda, the founder of this Piedmont travel blog. I’m very fortunate to spend much of my time in this beautiful region of Italy.

In the summer of 2021, my husband and I discovered, rather by accident, the beautiful and diverse Piedmont and fell in shock love!

This region in northwestern Italy, almost undiscovered by tourists, offers soooooo much and yet tends to get overlooked when planning a vacation.

Why? No idea!

The largest region of mainland Italy, in terms of square meters, has so much to offer: Beautiful cities like Turin or Asti and historical monuments such the Sacra di San Michele or the largest alpine fortress in Europe, Fenestrelle Fortress.

There are plenty of rural mountain villages like charming Usseaux and Ceresole Reale and, above all, an incredible amount of unspoiled nature in the Western Alps arc.

The only vacation element that Piedmont may lack is the sea, but instead it has lots of picturesque, deep blue mountain lakes.

  • Did you know that the west side of Lake Maggiore belongs to Piedmont?
  • Or did you know that Barolo, one of the most famous red wines in the world, comes from Piedmont?

As you can see, the unknown region has a lot to offer, and I could continue the list of sights and activities for a long time.

Fortunately, as a blogger, I am able to spend a lot of time in Piedmont, discover many new things and places and write them down for you here. We have our base at Pinerolo and start our explorations from here whenever possible.

Have fun discovering my favorite Italian region and have a great time in beautiful Piedmont!
